I found this challenge while browsing *CunningFox's gallery. I thought that this might be an interesting thing to try. I love unusual things, and I would love to give this a go.

What about you guys?

=alaitallon's challenge
There have been a lot of various art challenges going around, but I thought it might be a fun idea to start one that may inject some creativity and new interest into the furry/anthro art community. Far too often, we see the community saturated with wolves, foxes, big cats, rabbits, and occasionally an equine. It's time for some variety! So I thought it would be an interesting challenge to not just push myself personally, but to see if the rest of the community would like to do the same. Therefore, I've created this list of animals that have seen not nearly enough love in the fandom. While some of these may be canines, felines, etc., I tried to pick a few that are relatively unseen in the furry community.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Draw each and every one of the animals on this list. There is no time limit. It doesn't have to be in order, it doesn't even have to be anthro/humanoid. It doesn't even really have to be fully colored, it can be a pencil sketch if you'd prefer. Just give them a try. Not only will you push yourself in the process, you will learn about more of the amazing and exciting animals this world has to offer! Feel free to post this in your journal or webpage to show your progress, share it with friends, or simply use for inspiration. Some of these WILL be difficult, but you can do it! I tried not to make any of these so obscure that they wouldn't have much information or pictures of them. Some of these are also extinct, but all of them have artistic interpretations and pictures of their skeletons available on the internet or in books.

Well I have been on deviantart for like ages. I haven't really done some art for ages either. I am so slack. Although my art isn't really that fantastic anyway. So it's not like many people are missing out.

I do a lot of tutorials and place them on here, and well I just don't think that is good enough as art.

I am going to try and get my drawing skills up, since I have moved out of home, got myself a drawing tablet and a nice new scanner. So I think I will try and do something since it is so nice and quiet living on my own.

I have been actually thinking of drawing up a creature I have thought of. Also spiffing up my Pheligryph to make it an actual fursona of myself.

I wonder if people actually read my journals? I have only made two in the past...

Hey guys, if you read my journal please give me a little comment or something. I need some encouragement. I have severe anxiety and severe depression, and I really want to get out of this emotional whirlpool. I would really love and appreciate if anyone on here could give me a little cheer, or comment to get me motivated to do something.

Drawing is fun and helps me calm down, but with lack of motivation, it is quite hard to get that relaxation.

Oh, I am dribbling on. Sorry about that guys. Although if you don't mind my dribbling about my life, and want to know more, just tell me, I have nothing to hide, and if people are just curious, I will dribble all you want in journals. LOL.

I plan on making my own avatar, or getting someone to do me one, but really, I should try and draw my fursona, so then I can do my own art of her, instead of other people.

Currently right now I am baby sitting my younger siblings because my mum had to go to Adelaide with Kes, one of my younger siblings. She just had her tonsils out, and she had to go to town for a week to make sure there was no extra bleeding. For us living in the country, it was a little bit of a hassle. I think my mum is glad she has me around to babysit for her. Although it stresses me out big time, I love my siblings, and I love my mum, and I owe it to her. :)

Well I better wrap this journal up, a mate is having computer troubles, and I am the one to come to the rescue. I am so helpful, even though I don't think I ever am.

Have a wonderful easter all. Don't eat too much chocolate at once.

Until next time

The Solar System

Tue Mar 21, 2006, 7:07 PM
Well with all the planets I have been doing lately, I think I should attempt to make the solar system. This will be my little project that I will work on during and around school. Since I have art and I am doing digital stuff, I am on the computer. I am actually in art right now as I type this.

I have had a few brain storming attempts on how I should present this little project of mine, but it left me mentally exhausted. Maybe I shouldn't think so hard next time...
